The complex and rapidly evolving political landscape of 2022-2023 demanded nuanced, in-depth analysis accessible to a broad audience. The challenge was to:
- Provide comprehensive coverage of diverse political issues, both domestic and international
- Create engaging, long-form audio content (20-45 minutes) that maintains listener interest
- Coordinate between expert hosts to ensure cohesive and insightful discussions
- Balance in-depth analysis with accessibility for a general audience
The Solution
As Scriptwriter, Researcher, and Editorial Coordinator for the first 5 episodes of the second season of “Buceando en el naufragio” (Diving into the wreck), I developed a multi-faceted approach:
- Comprehensive Research and Analysis:
- Conducted extensive research on five critical political topics
- Analyzed current events, historical context, and potential future implications
- Consulted with experts and primary sources for accurate interpretation
- In-Depth Scriptwriting:
- Crafted detailed scripts for 5 episodes, each 20-45 minutes long
- Developed narratives that balanced factual information with engaging storytelling
- Created structured discussion points for hosts Sandra Borda and Gabriel Silva
- Editorial Coordination:
- Liaised with the producing studio to ensure high production quality
- Selected appropriate soundtracks and audio pieces to enhance the narrative
- Coordinated between the two host speakers to ensure smooth, dynamic discussions
- Topic Coverage: Addressed key political issues, including:
- U.S. mid-term elections
- The new left-turn or pink tide in Latin America
- Flaws in China’s long-term anti-Covid policy
- Foreign policy of newly elected President Petro in Colombia
- “Total peace” talks in Colombia
