Raising Awareness About Cirrhosis and Liver Diseases in Malta
The Challenge
DaVinci Health needed to raise awareness about cirrhosis and liver diseases while promoting their specialized screening and treatment services during the second semester of 2022. The challenge was to communicate the importance of liver health while:
- Educating the Maltese population about a less-discussed but critical health concern
- Breaking through misconceptions about liver disease being exclusively linked to alcohol consumption
- Positioning DaVinci Health as Malta’s trusted provider for hepatology services
- Converting education into early screening appointments for at-risk individuals
- Communicating complex hepatic conditions in accessible, actionable language
The Solution
As the Copywriter for Room4 Media’s campaign for DaVinci Health, I developed a comprehensive approach:
- Strategic Messaging Framework:
- Developed content around three key pillars: Recognizing Symptoms, Diagnosis & Treatment Options, and Preventative Lifestyle Changes
- Created “Silent but Serious” campaign theme highlighting liver disease’s often symptomless progression
- Established messaging that balanced medical urgency with hopeful, solution-oriented content
- Multi-Channel Content Development:
- Crafted compelling copy for a dedicated liver health services landing page with clear patient pathways
- Produced 15 engaging social media publications and carousel posts featuring symptom checklists and risk factors
- Authored 3 blog articles addressing early warning signs, diagnostic procedures, and lifestyle modifications
- Developed a 3-part newsletter series educating subscribers on liver function, disease progression, and treatment innovations
- Created 2 Google Banner Ad campaigns targeting specific at-risk demographics
- Content Focus Areas:
- The often-overlooked symptoms of early liver disease (fatigue, abdominal discomfort, jaundice)
- Modern diagnostic techniques available at DaVinci Health (FibroScan, advanced blood panels)
- Various treatment approaches, from lifestyle modifications to medication therapies
- The liver’s remarkable regenerative capabilities when damage is caught early
